Frogs 🐸 in SquirrelNest 3 (Hana’s tree)

Frogs have been living in the nest since late spring of 2022. Hana knows about frogs, bumps into them sitting in the tunnel when she leaves in the morning, she simply ignores the frogs😂

Frogs always lived on Hana’s tree, showing us a leg or a finger👍 on our Blink motion activated cameras. We didn’t see them well because They cannot really activate “passive” motion sensors. These sensors react to warm blooded animals but sometimes (2 times a year) a frog would block the sun or hot part of the nest, and we would have a glimpse at their life fingers 👍.  

Initially we couldn’t believe our eyes then thought that this is an accident (flying frog? 😂🤦‍♂️).  Last year we installed 24/7 security cameras and confirmed their existence! Our first video, we’ve been SO excited! 

We only see these frogs on Hana’s tree, it’s a stand alone front lawn tree far away from our forest and backyard. They are hunting at night only, often on the nestbox.  One started living inside Hana’s nest in May of 2022, later joined by another. Just in time to become Hana’s roommates!

We think that our frogs are Spring Peepers 😂
